Employment Program
Participants
Individualized and Personal Support
Inclusion Parksville Employment Services empowers adults with diverse disabilities to gain and maintain successful employment within the Oceanside Area.
The program provides participants with a Vocational Counsellor and leads participants through 4 key phases:
- Employability Skills
- Job Search and Development
- Job Coaching
- Job Independence (Maintenance).
These phases are individualized, and the time participants spend in each phase varies.
During the 4 key phases, participants will be supported to achieve employment through person-centered:
- Employment Goals
- Learning Opportunities
- Practical Skill Development
- Certifications
Participants can also join a weekly Employability Skills group session. Resources provided by the Canadian Association for Supported Employment (C.A.S.E) are used to strengthen employability skills.
Inclusion Parksville Employment Services supports participants to find:
- Customized Employment: this is where the Vocational Counsellor works with the participant and employer to create or adapt a position.
- Supported Employment: this is where the participant is supported to succeed in an existing position.
